Terms of Use

These terms apply to gameonsign.com and its API (together, "the service"), run by Daniel as Game On Sign. By using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
A free service
The website and API are free to use for personal, non-commercial and maker or DIY projects. There are no accounts. The service is supported by advertising and optional donations.
Acceptable use
- Don't overload the service, scrape it aggressively, or try to break, probe or get around its security or rate limits.
- Don't use the service for anything unlawful, or to mislead people about who runs it or where the data comes from.
- Don't remove or hide the league and trademark notices, or present the site as official league or team content.
API fair use (ESP32 boards and other devices)
- The API is meant for scoreboards, lights and signs. Poll politely: follow the
pollhint in each response (about every 15 seconds during games, minutes apart otherwise) and use ETags where you can. - Rate limits may apply, and clients that overload the service may be slowed or blocked.
- There is no uptime guarantee or service level. Endpoints may change or stop; breaking changes go to a new version path when possible.
- Attribution ("data via gameonsign.com") is appreciated but not required.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Scores and schedules may be delayed, incomplete or wrong (see the Disclaimer).
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Game On Sign and its operator are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from using, or being unable to use, the service, its data or any device or sign you build that relies on it.
Third-party content and links
Ads are provided by Google, and links may lead to other sites (such as Venmo or league sites). Those are governed by their own terms. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Changes
Features can change, be limited or stop at any time. These terms may be updated; the new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and continuing to use the service means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
