Game On Sign (gameonsign.com, "the site") is a free hobby project run by one person. By using the site or its API, you agree to these terms.

Independent fan project

Game On Sign is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Hockey League (NHL), the National Football League (NFL), the National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), ESPN, any team, or any other league or brand.

Trademarks

All team names, logos, and other marks are trademarks of their respective owners. They are shown only to identify the teams a game involves (nominative use). No claim of ownership or endorsement is made. If you are a rights holder and want something removed, use the contact email listed here (coming soon) and it will be taken down promptly.

Scores and schedule data

Scores, schedules, and game status come from publicly available third-party sources. They may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate, and start times can change. Don't rely on the site for betting or wagering, travel plans, or anything critical. Check official league sources for that.

Terms of use

• The site and API are free for personal, non-commercial and maker or DIY use.
• Don't abuse the service. Don't overload it, scrape it aggressively, or try to break or get around its protections.
• Features can change, be limited, or stop at any time, without notice.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The site and API are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from using or being unable to use the site, the API, or its data. That includes devices or signs you build that rely on it.

API terms

• The API is free and provided as is, with no uptime guarantee or SLA. Endpoints may change or stop. Breaking changes go to a new version path when possible.
• Be reasonable with polling. Follow each response's poll hint (about 15 s during games, minutes otherwise) and use ETags. Rate limiting may apply, and abusive clients may be blocked.
• The same disclaimers apply: no affiliation with any league or team, team names and logos belong to their owners, and data may be delayed or wrong.
• Attribution ("data via gameonsign.com") is appreciated but not required.

Privacy

• No ads, no tracking, no analytics and no third-party scripts.
• No accounts and no sign-up. Your display settings live in the page URL you bookmark.
• No cookies. Your browser may cache the site's files (like any website) to load faster.
• The web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, time, and requested URL) for security and operations, under the hosting provider's own policies. They are not used for profiling or sold.
• The Venmo link on the About page goes to Venmo. Their privacy policy applies there.
